19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a former number one, has endured a torrid season, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with former coach Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks his first title following the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.
The win also means he has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's counter-punching play style and recurring reactions on court had led observers to doubt if his capacity to play at the top level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden professional title, took control to push for a third set.
The opponent defended 4 early chances in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net, with his opponent failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
