I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
